A Smisby/Boundary Wedding – Leicestershire

Hello…. good afternoon.  Today, I share with you my very first wedding that I photographed as the person in charge, on an incredible journey that really has been inspirational in working as a photographer.  I’ve spent a couple of wedding seasons second shooting which has helped a tremendous amount in preparing me for a wedding to do on my lonesome.  I don’t do many large weddings on my own but I have done a few and as they say, survived!  I will say, weddings are lovely… no doubt about it but seriously, the pressure it’s there all day – there’s no running from it – you just learn to control the nerves and let the magic shine through by taking lots and beautiful images.

So how come this beautiful bride and groom chose me?  It was down to firstly giving me the confidence to learn and successfully photograph a wedding, being relaxed around people I knew and secondly, I did a fantastic job of photographing beautiful Maggie, the bride and groom’s dog, on one of my dog photoshoot sessions that they wanted me for their wedding – honoured.   My work ethic is relaxed, informal, documentary, fun and creative.

The day began with the bridal preparations with my second shooter, Rachel meeting up with the groom capturing the surprise VW Camper Van.  Although the weather sadly was wet to start – it did go on to brighten up as the bride left for Church.  Kristina and Damian held their ceremony at St James’ Church in the quaint village of Smisby.  After a beautiful ceremony, the couple left in a pair and carriage to the bride’s family home in Boundary for the reception.  We had lawn cricket, cocktails, amass of selfies, fab speeches and a great band to make the evening.  I had such a blast it’s great to finally share this wedding with you even if I am a little behind in blogging it.   Kristina’s dress was just gorgeous with the groomsmen all digging the DJ look with Bridesmaids all wearing Coral gowns.   Onwards and upwards to a fantastic 2017, I’ve just completed my first year as a wedding photographer!  Fun, laughter and happy ever after…..
